LucidWorks Enterprise can be configured to use an existing LDAP system, or users can be created with the User API manually entered through the Admin UI. This interface also allows changing the default password of the admin user.
When users are created in LucidWorks Enterprise, they should also be assigned an authorization to be able to use the Admin UI, Search UI, or Alerts, as appropriate. Search Filters may also need to be assigned if the user's view of results should be limited or restricted in some way.

To create a user manually, go to the User's page, and click Add User.

Enter the appropriate information for the following fields:

| Username | The username of the user that will be used to log in to the system. Once created, this username cannot be changed. |
| First Name | The user's first name, if desired. |
| Last Name | The user's last name, if desired. |
| The user's email address | |
| Password | The password the user will use to log in to the system. |
| Confirm Password | Repeat the password from the previous field to confirm it. |
Click Create to create the user.
To edit a user's settings, highlight the username in the list, and make changes in the form on the right.
